Unfortunately in the railway world there do come times when an emergency occurs. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, and an unplanned infrastructure failure results in the closure of a line, SEMA has the necessary resources to get an owner up and running again quickly and efficiently. In the event of an unplanned emergency, SEMA can mobilize our own Engineers, Inspectors, Construction Professionals, and specialized equipment all on short notice to the field. In past emergency situations we have been called on to repair, SEMA has carried out preliminary design, fabrication, and construction virtually simultaneously. This can be a huge advantage to an owner who might otherwise be facing weeks or months of unscheduled and costly downtime. (With other companies, it would be necessary for the owner to find separate Engineering Consultants, Project Managers, Fabricators, Construction Personnel, materials, and specialized equipment, etc. Then co-ordinate all of them and convince them all to work together. SEMA has virtually all of these requirements covered in house.
